Biography

My first novel, Mother’s Tongue: A Story of Forgiving and Forgetting depicts how a woman’s language repertoire and her destiny are intertwined. My second novella Who’s that Ant? Whose Dead End? is a political satire that raises issues about education through the eyes of ants. After publishing these two novels, I continue to write stories about how politics influences ordinary people’s lives. It means a lot to me if my writings can give a voice to those who are voiceless. Drawing inspirations from my experiences in Hong Kong, Canada, and China, I wrote A Blissful Moment of Nothingness, giving particular importance to time and place. I became a full-time writer in 2020 after moving to Tasmania. Having called the beautiful island my home for three years, I said my sad farewell. Now I live in Perth, Western Australia with my husband and my canine friends.
